In 1983 British impresario Malcolm McLaren released Duck Rock, "an album that mixed up musical styles from South Africa, Central and South America, the Caribbean and the U.S., including the then-new genre of hip-hop. The album was very influential to hip-hop bring to a wider audience in the United States and Great Britain. Two of the singles from the album "Buffalo Gals" and "Double Dutch", was big chart hits on both sides of the Atlantic. Guest musicians featured on "Duck Rock" include TrevorHorn, Anne Dudley, JJ Jeczalik and Thomas Dolby.
