AACR 2011: Protein analysis detects early stage lung cancer associated with asbestos

Dr. Harvey Pass - NYU Langone Medical Center, New York, USA. Dr. Harvey Pass speaks of a new biomarker tests, which presumably causes even the most accurate in the detection of proteins secreted by tumors to asbestos. Could recognize in a blind test study, the proteome 15 of the 19 cases of malignant pleural mesothelioma, that were in Stage 1 or Stage 2, so that the test is about 80 percent sensitive, a measure of how closely a test to identify illness. In addition, the specificity of theThe test was 100 percent, meaning there were no false positives in this study. To the slides click here.
